About Margo Larose

Introducing: Margo
For more than forty years, Margo Larose has devoted her life to the art and discipline of dance. As the founder and director of En Avant School of Dance in Vernon, British Columbia, she has guided generations of dancers with her rare combination of structure, artistry, and genuine care.
A certified instructor with both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and ADAPT, Margo offers professional training in ballet, jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, musical theatre, contemporary, and worship dance. Her RAD certification allows students to participate in internationally recognized ballet examinations — an achievement few instructors can provide — while her ADAPT qualifications ensure a solid foundation in jazz, tap, and acrobatics.
Welcome to En Avant School of Dance
Located in Vernon, British Columbia, near Swan Lake, En Avant School of Dance is housed in one of the region’s most beloved historic landmarks — the Swan Lake Community Dance Hall, built in 1929.
For nearly a century, the building has echoed with music and movement, once serving as the Ukrainian Dance Hall and home to local dance societies. In its early days, it was warmed by wood stoves in the basement and lit by lanterns, with outhouses out back. People from all around the valley flocked to its large, beautiful dance hall to celebrate, perform, and share in the joy of community and movement.
Lovingly restored and reimagined, the hall now belongs to Margo Larose. The original stage and part of the dance hall has been transformed into Margo’s private living quarters — a poetic detail for a lifelong dancer who quite literally sleeps on the old stage, overlooking Swan Lake!
The property now includes the Dancy Pants Boutique, a professional dance studio and hall, a washroom, a lounge with a window for parents, and ample on-site parking for dancers and their families.

A generous on-site parking area ensures plenty of room for dancers and families, making visits to the studio and boutique both convenient and stress-free.
